In this article, I will discuss the Empire Sniper Pump Action Paintball Marker. I like this gun and it's very good value. I also asked current owners (see section below the gun's features) of this marker to provide me with some insights and feedback about their Empire Sniper gun. In my opinion, there is no better opinion than from someone who owns the gun and knows the in's and out's...
We already know that Empire is one of the top brands that can assure you value and quality when it comes to making paintball guns, and the Empire sniper pump marker is no different. The first look at this gun shows a smooth finish, and its quality aesthetic appearance is matched with a top-notch internal system.
I rate this marker, the Empire Sniper Paintball Marker, as our Best Pump Action Sniper Paintball Marker under $500. This is a great gun for the money. If you want to read my opinion on all pump action paintball markers, read this article: Best Pump Acton Paintball Markers.
This marker's prominent feature is its auto-cocker design, which allows players to keep firing by merely placing their finger on the trigger and holding it down while using the other hand to move the pump back and forth. Pump-action lovers will definitely have a fun-filled day using this paintball gun.
The Empire paintball sniper marker was only made in black color from the factory, but different brands disassemble it and attach new parts with new colors.
It is exceptionally efficient and is used by a lot of players in professional tournaments. It is comfortable, durable, and relatively affordable, given its features. The package comes with a CD manual and a quick start manual to help get your gun running. Empire usually has a downloadable copy of their manuals on their website just in case you lose yours.
The features and specification of the Empire Paintball Sniper Pump Marker are listed below:
So, I wanted to provide you with opinions and feedback from other players and owners. Therefore, I have asked other players who own and use the Empire Paintball Sniper Marker for their honest opinion. This is what owners/users had to say:
For any paintball pump-action enthusiast looking for a durable and efficient marker, the Empire paintball sniper marker is an excellent choice. The game of paintball is a tactical, slow-paced one, and using the Empire pump marker puts you at an advantage since you have a faster shooting rate due to its auto-trigger feature.
The hitman pump handle also reduces the stress of pulling the pump by letting players use just a finger instead of using their full hand.
This marker makes pump-action paintballing much more comfortable and enjoyable. It is undoubtedly one of the best pump action markers on the market today!
Before getting into the details about this marker, it is essential to understand what a pump-action paintball is. Just as the name connotes, Pump-action requires the player to pump the gun by pulling a pump handle back to load the paintball into the barrel before shooting.
Pump action paintball guns are not for everyone, especially people who love a fast-paced game. They require a more subtle and intricate touch and using a pump-action paintball gun in a speedball game might put you at a significant disadvantage, given that you must pump the marker every time you need to shoot, which dramatically slows down your firing rate. Pump-action guns are enjoyable when everyone uses pump action.
So, who is this gun best suited for? I believe pump-action guns are great for intermediate to advanced players who enjoy a more tactical slow-paced match. This could be a good gun for a beginner as long everyone on the field are using pump-action guns. A beginner is less likely to feel overwhelmed and feel the pressure to keep up they would usually face while playing speedball paintball.
However, if you are into speedball or woodsball paintballing and are looking for a suitable marker (Click here to read my Tippmann Cronus Marker Review) to read our review of the Tippman Cronus paintball as my pick for the best beginner paintball gun. Here is an article that discusses our top picks for Best Fully Auto Paintball Guns.
Players who enjoy tactical games where strategy is more important than firepower would also enjoy pump action paintball guns. When using this type of gun, players hardly use a lot of ammo and are very cautious when taking shots because every shot counts.
The Azodin KP3.5 KAOS pump action gun is a well-balanced and efficient gun with a simple well-functioning system. The KP3 replaced the KP2 pump gun, which had a twist feed-neck and no on/off gas regulator. The marker also runs majorly on compressed air and is not compatible with CO2, which saves players the stress of purchasing an expensive gas like CO2.
Listed below are some of the features and specifications of the Azodin KP3.5 KAOS:
So, I wanted to provide you with other player's opinions. Therefore, I've asked other players who own and use the Azodin KP3.5 KAOS for their honest opinion. This is what owners/users had to say:
Why should you buy this gun over the others available? The quality this marker is providing and the rate at which it is being sold makes it affordable.
The KP3 is undoubtedly well packaged and quite ergonomic. It gives off the feel of a high-end paintball marker, and it is very durable.
If you are getting into pump-action gameplay and are looking for a reasonably priced beginner's pump-action marker, or if you like a more slow-paced tactical game, the KP3 is definitely what you want.
It is a bang!
Tippmann is one of the most admired brands in the world of paintball today, and this can be attributed to the level of reliability and durability that their products have. The Tippmann Cronus is no exception to this fantastic resilience and sturdiness that the Tippmann brand is known for.
Although the Cronus is Tippmann's most affordable paintball marker yet, it is as sturdy as the other high-end Tippmann guns. Asides from being durable and affordable, another feature that makes the Cronus stand out is its realistic look. A beginner to the game just barely looking at the Cronus and other high-end Tippmann guns may think the Cronus would cost more.
The Cronus comes in two versions (basic and tactical). The two versions are quite alike, but the tactical version includes an adjustable stock, a carrier handle, and a barrel shroud. Asides from these three things, the two versions are the same.
Tippmann Cronus - Tactical Edition
As a beginner to paintballing, you might have reservations about spending so much money on high-end paintball guns. Well, the Cronus will allay those fears by providing you with an affordable option that also assures an excellent paintballing experience.
You can go out to the field with confidence and be rest assured that the Tippmann Cronus will not disappoint.
Highlighted below are the features and specifications of the Tippmann Cronus:
I thought it would help to also include reviews from other paintballers who use and own the Tippmann Cronus Here are what some owners and users of the Tippmann Cronus have to say about the gun:
As a beginner, the things you should look for in a paintball marker are durability, effectiveness, and price. The Tippmann Cronus checks all on that list. Given the price, you can easily upgrade to a high-end paintball marker after using it for a short while.
The Tippmann Cronus might be the cheapest Tippman, but it is not the littlest in terms of performance. Have you used a Cronus before? Let us know your experience using the gun by commenting below.
The first thing that popped in my head when I first came across the Empire BT DFender was, "where does the hopper fit?" This high-end paintball gun is utterly unique and quite different from what you would typically see in paintball markers available on the market today.
There will be pros and cons when considering whether you should get this gun or not, but I genuinely believe the pros outweigh the cons. The marker is made from an ultralight magnesium material with a unibody shell look that protects all its vital parts. This shell body makes maintenance easy and ensures the durability of the marker.
Just by looking at this marker, you would know it works differently. So, you might ask, "how exactly does it work?" It uses an internalized firing system that operates smoothly and extremely fast, reducing the recoil effect, which gives more velocity to the barrel. The increased speed ultimately leads to a high firing rate and improved accuracy.
When the marker’s trigger is pulled, it sends a signal to the loader, making it spin and move the paintballs up the ram into the gun’s breach and down into the barrel. Unlike most markers with their loaders connected to the firing chamber, the BT DFender's loader connects to the trigger, which significantly improves its refill rate and firing rate.
This marker has many unique features, but it is prominently known for its aggressive firing rate (which can be easily adjusted) and its top-notch durability. It is commonly used in scenario paintball by a lot of professionals. The marker's design minimizes the user's overall profile, thereby making the player less detectable.
This marker has improved accuracy, high firing rate, high refill rate, durability, reduced user profile, and a unique design. It almost seems perfect, right? Let us delve into some of its features/specifications, pros, and cons.
Whether you are a professional or even a beginner looking for a quality paintball marker to give you the best possible experience, this marker is an excellent option for consideration. At the end of this article, you will be able to decide if the Empire BT DFender is for you or not.
The Empire BT DFender has lots of great features, which will be listed below:
So, I wanted to provide you with other player's opinions. Therefore, I've asked other players who own and use the Empire BT DFender for their honest opinion. This is what owners/users had to say:
This new generation marker, Empire BT DFender, is unique and field-ready right from when you unbox it. It has immense power, extreme durability, improved range, and accuracy, making it a good option for both professionals and beginners.
With the immense power this marker has, I wonder why it was not named the 'Empire BT Attacker' instead. Indeed, you will stand out with this marker in your arms and get the best possible paintballing experience.
Although it is quite expensive, be rest assured, it is worth every penny.
The Empire Axe 2.0 is top tier when talking about paintball guns. It can be seen being used by professionals in speedball tournaments due to its immense firing rate, ease of use, and quality. It could also be used for woodsball paintballing depending on the role you are playing of course (ideal for rushers and suppressor roles)
The Empire Axe 2.0 is quite similar to the Empire Mini GS and the Empire Axe Pro but with just a few improvements and differences. The Empire Axe is an improvement from the Mini GS as most of the issues in the Mini GS have been resolved in the Axe 2.0.
One noticeable improvement from the Mini GS that can be seen in the Axe 2.0 is the larger trigger area space. This gives the user more room to move their fingers around thereby removing that cramped feeling a lot of players complained about. The Empire Axe 2.0 is bigger than the Mini GS which helps resolve the small size issue also talked about by users.
The Axe 2.0 is however smaller than the Empire Axe Pro but quite similar in features. Obvious differences that can be spotted right away include the smaller size and the absence of an OLED board which is present in the Axe Pro. Unlike the feed-neck of the Axe Pro that is made from Aluminum, the Axe 2.0’s feed-neck is made from Delrin plastic material.
Regardless of these differences, the Empire Axe 2.0 is still one of the best paintball guns out there, even for professionals. Parts are easy to find making repairs easy and the gun is extremely quiet with very little kick to it. Even though the price may be a bit steep, you will get great value for your money.
Noticeable features that make the Empire Axe 2.0 stand out and one of the best include:

So, I wanted to provide you with feedback from other people who own and use the Empire Axe 2.0 paintball gun for their thoughts about the paintball gun and I will be sharing some of the comments here. Based on the comments and my observation, the Pros and Cons of the gun will be listed in the section below.
Here are some of the comments users gave about the Empire Axe 2.0:
The Empire Axe 2.0 is certainly not perfect, but it is a great choice for beginners and professionals in the game of paintball.
Quality and durability are ensured with this gun and you can easily upgrade it if you choose to.
Whether you are playing speedball, woodsball, or scenario paintballing, the Empire Axe 2.0 can assure you a smooth and quality experience and even secure the victory you need.
In paintball guns, O-rings are used to block the pathway to prevent gases from leaking. The O-ring can be found in places such as the ASA regulator which connects the gun to the HPA gas tank, the bolt, and the poppet.
In the bolt system, the eyes allow the paintball gun to fire fast without chopping the balls as the bolt pushes it forward.
The Empire Axe 2.0 has 4 firing modes:
The Semi-Auto mode simply means one shot per trigger pull.
The Axe 2.0 will begin at semi-auto mode for the first 3 shots fired after which the firing rate will ramp up to 13 shots per second if the player maintains a trigger pull rate of 3 balls per second
Full auto mode is achieved when the trigger is pulled and held down on the 4th shot. The gun fires rapidly at the rate of 15 balls per second.
If the player can achieve a trigger pull rate of 6 balls per second and can maintain it, the gun would continuously fire at 12 balls per second.
If you've been playing paintball for a little bit, then your going to want a tactical vest. I find them handy to hold items that I use when I'm playing so that I can be quicker on the trigger. In this article, I want to talk about my choice for tactical vests and also cover the different aspects of choosing a Tactical Vest for Paintball, provide a quick buyers guide, review some best options and then provide a comparison table.
Here is a summary of my findings... Scroll down for more details and explanations.
The overall best tactical vest is the Glory Fire Tactical Vest Modular Assault Vest Law Enforcement Vest is typically priced under $75...
This is a lightweight and extremely breathable combat training vest that can be used to handle real firearms, paintballing, and airsoft equipment. There are two variants to this vest; one made from a 1000D Cordura fabric and the other from a 600D Oxford fabric.
The 1000 Denier Cordura fabric is a versatile nylon fabric that is extremely strong yet lightweight. The material is resistant to tear and abrasion and is water repellent. The 600D Oxford fabric on the other hand is made from polyester and it is extremely sturdy and not as lightweight as the 1000D fabric but is cheaper.
The Glory Fire vest is extremely adjustable with shoulder and side straps you can adjust easily to ensure proper fit and easy movement. The vest also comes with a detachable and adjustable belt which makes it easy for anyone of any size to use.
The vest also features a detachable pistol holster which can be attached to the belt or MOLLE system. This detachable holster makes it easy for right-handed or left-handed players to adjust the holster to a position that best suits them.
The vest also features three different inner mesh compartments for storing documents and maps. Right below the rubber grip shoulder pad is a shotgun shell compartment designed to hold five shells. The vest is equipped with a multifunctional pouch, several magazine pouches, a radiophone pouch, and a flashlight pouch.
At the back of the pouch, we can locate a reinforced rescue pull handle and a MOLLE system (which stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment). The adjustable shoulder pads are also located on the back of the vest.
The best budget tactical vest is the Himal Sports-Vest. It comes in three different colors with price changing based on color. This vest is the best value for the cost.
This vest has a similar design to the Glory Fire vest. It also is equipped with a shotgun shell holder right under its skidproof shoulder pad. In front, the vest is equipped with a utility pouch, 6 magazine pouches (3 on each side), an accessory pouch, 3 equipment pouches, and a radiophone pouch. Needless to say, this vest has enough room to equip yourself with lots of ammo and equipment to always keep up with the tempo of the game.
At the back, the vest is equipped with a MOLLE system, adjustable shoulder panels, reinforced rescue handle, a detachable cross-draw pistol holder, and a modular webbing Velcro material which is used to attach camouflage equipment and mailbags.
The vest also comes with an adjustable and detachable belt which ensures a perfect fit for users of different sizes. The cross-draw pistol holder is also detachable. The vest is made from a 600D polyester fabric which is tear/abrasion resistant. This material makes the vest extremely durable, lightweight, and comfortable.
The best alternate tactical vest is the YAKEDA Tactical Vest, Ultra-Light Breathable Combat Training Vest is a fantastic alternative and also under $75. This vest comes in about 9 different colors giving players the chance to choose from a large variety.
Just like the other tactical vests discussed in this article, this vest has an adjustable shoulder and a detachable/adjustable belt which helps ensure a perfect fit regardless of the player’s size. The shoulders have D-rings which can be used for the attachment of carabiners.
The vest is equipped with 3 rifle magazine pouches, 3 pistol magazine pouches (which can be adjusted to fit regular magazines), a pistol holster, a utility pouch, a shotgun shell pouch, and a radiophone pouch.
At the back, the double-ply mesh design allows for the attachment of a hydration bladder. It also has a rescue pull handle at the back, as well as a MOLLE system and strips to which camouflage equipment can be attached to.
The interior of the vest is equipped with two zipped mesh pockets which can be used for the storage of documents or maps. The downside to this vest is that it has a right-hand draw designed system which could be inconvenient for left-handed players.
The best tactical vest is well under $200 is the BARSKA Loaded Gear VX-200 Right Hand Tactical Vest. This vest was designed to military specs which means it's very durable and of high quality.
This vest has an extremely sturdy mesh design which ensures proper ventilation while providing maximum protection. This vest comes equipped with 4 rifle magazine pouches (which can be adjusted to contain two each), 3 pistol magazine pouches, a detachable pistol holder, a shotgun shell holder, a utility pouch, and a detachable/adjustable belt (which helps ensure a perfect fit for all)
The vest also features D-rings on both shoulders, front and back Velcro materials that could be used to attach ID patches, 2 internal zipped pockets which could be used to keep documents or maps, 1 internal mesh pocket with a touch-fastener closure, a flashlight pouch, a MOLLE system, and a rescue pull handle on the back.
I remember the first time my friends and I went paintballing, we thought we looked extremely professional given that we were all geared up in overalls, protective vests, and helmets. All that changed when the real professionals came in.
What stood out and made them look like they knew what they were doing was their tactical vests. They had on extra ammo tubes, squeegees, and a couple of other tools we did not even know. I remember feeling intimidated because I thought we did not stand a chance and that we would lose against people geared up that good. Well, I was right, we did lose!
However, the tactical vests they had on upgraded their gameplay and made them seem invincible because it looked like they never ran out of ammo while my friends and I on the other hand had to conserve the little we had.
Tactical vests are important for any paintball enthusiast to have as it enhances your overall experience. Tactical paintball vests are important majorly because they allow players to carry extra ammo which could help determine the outcome of the game. Tactical vests also help give players an extra layer of protection keeping them safe from paintball hits and while maneuvering on the field.
Tactical vests can be used to carry various items such as ammo, squeegees, CO2 gas tanks, side arms (pistols), tools for quick on-field repair such as an Allen screw, and communication devices. Any quality tactical vest needs to have a quick-release strap to make the process easy and seamless for the shooter.
The extra ammo tube allows players to carry over 100 rounds of ammo comfortably and this helps keep up the momentum of the game. This feature is particularly advantageous to woodsball players who can go hours without taking a break.
While playing paintball, a lot of things could happen to your rifle which could require you to disassemble it to fix the problem. The tactical vest allows players to carry a repair kit with tools like squeegees, Allen screws, lubricant, and so on.
Players who participate in woodsball or scenario paintballing may also require communication devices like walkie talkies. This can be easily stored on the tactical vest.
In this article, we will be looking at various categories of tactical paintball vests with the hope that it can serve as a guide for you when choosing a vest for yourself.
Let’s get into it!
Tactical vests offer so much at very little cost. Asides from the fact that they offer more protection than your basic paintball vest, they also bring a lot of versatility to a player’s gameplay. Tactical vests fully optimize the gameplay by allowing players to play for a longer time.
Tactical vests usually have a reinforced rescue pull handle at the back of the vest which is a safety feature that normal paintball vests do not have. The vests can be used for real firearms as well.
For woodsball and scenario paintball players, the tactical vest is a must-have as this allows you to carry extra ammo, sidearms, maps, radiophones, repair equipment, and much more. All of which are vital when playing this kind of game.
Some things to consider when choosing a tactical vest are:
If you are serious about paintballing and genuinely want to improve your gameplay and overall experience, a tactical paintball vest will do just that.
As you likely know, there are endless possibilities when it comes to enhancing your gear and maximizing your paintballing experience.
Camouflage for you, for your gun and paintball in general, is just as important as all the other gear you might want. Woodsball paintballing is one of the most popular forms of paintballing which involves players competing in the natural outdoors or in urban fields (which are recreated to look like the outdoors)
Camouflage is essential when it comes to Woodsball gaming because it allows players to easily blend into the natural environment. The ability to blend in and stay undetected has the power to dictate the flow of the game between two teams.
Staying undetected while using a camouflage outfit requires more than just putting the camouflage on. It is important to stay still and avoid moving around too much to prevent getting detected easily.
Stay still and undetected, aim for your opponent, shoot, then move. This is often the gameplay pattern for players playing woodsball paintballing.
Woodsball paintballing requires a lot of tactics and patience and making use of camouflage makes it possible to strategize while staying hidden.
In this article, we will be listing various paintballing camouflage gear that can greatly improve your gaming experience. Keep reading to gain insight into the best kind of camouflage for paintballing.
There is a camouflage option for basically every part of a player's body when it comes to woodsball paintballing. Even the paintballing gun has a camouflage which prevents it from being easy to detect when sticking out of cover and aiming at an opponent. Which gear you get depends on your preference and your role in the game.
There are four major roles when it comes to woodsball paintballing. The suppressor, the marksman, the rusher, and the sniper. To get more insight on what these roles play in the game, check out our FAQ section.
As a sniper whose job is to mostly stay hidden and take long-range shots, the most essential camouflage option you might need would be your hoodie, helmet, and camo for your rifle. Snipers usually lay low on the ground or crouch against a cover to take shots which makes it difficult for their legs to be visible.
The other roles (rusher, marksman, and suppressor) may require more camouflage as they are required to move around more frequently. In this case, getting the full camouflage kit (pants, jerseys, hoodies, and helmet) would be advisable or the players could get a ghillie suit that offers full coverage.
In paintball, the importance of quality pants can not be overemphasized. The game requires players to maneuver across rough surfaces. Players must crawl, crouch, and dive to avoid getting shot at and this could cause cuts and bruises to players if they are not well protected with proper quality pants.
Now that we know the importance of quality paintball pants, woodsball paintball players should pick a camouflage paintball pant as this allows them to easily blend in with nature which makes it harder for opponents to detect them.
A great option for players who are interested in getting quality and sturdy pants for paintball is the Mossy Oak Men's Camo Pants.
This pant comes in 4 different colors and various sizes which makes it easier for anyone to wear. The price range varies between $80-$100 depending on the size selected. These pants are more expensive than other options, but I believe they provide the best value.
The Mossy Oak camo pants are made from soft and sturdy 390g performance micro-fleece material which makes it resistant to light rain and snow. It is an extremely lightweight pant, weighing only about 8 ounces.
These pants are designed to provide players with warmth in extremely cold weather and is also made with stretchy material which allows players to maneuver comfortably. The stretchy material allows players to squat and crouch with convenience.
The pants are equipped with the following features:
Mossy Oak Also have Camo for Women. I like the quality of their material but the pants aren't as form fitting as other brands.
Another great option for women who are into paintballing who want something a bit more stylish is the TwiinSisters Women's High Waist Camo Pants.
These pants are more of a stylish option and can be worn casually as well as on the field. Their prices range between $15- $40 depending on the size.
The pants come in a variety of colors and are equipped with two front pockets and two cargo pockets on each side. It is made mainly from cotton material and spandex which gives it stretch capabilities. The pants are lightweight weighing just 12.96 ounces.
Getting a quality paintball jersey is important as it provides users with the dual function of protection against bruises and cuts, and it also keeps players warm especially when playing in cold weather.
Woodsball paintballing requires players to do a lot of crawling on the floor which mainly involves the knees and the elbows. Therefore, getting a proper jersey would help protect the elbows and other parts of the upper body while maneuvering.
A camouflage paintball jersey allows players to aim carefully at opponents without getting detected. Listed below are a couple of quality paintball jerseys that would be suitable for woodsball use.
The first is the Planet Eclipse Camouflage HDE Jersey (Check Amazon for pricing) comes in four different sizes.
This lightweight jersey weighs 13.44 ounces, and it is fully padded offering an extra layer of protection to the chest, shoulder, and forearm. This jersey is made from anti-snag and anti-pluck material which makes it extremely durable.
Another example of a quality paintball jersey is the Valken Tango Camouflage Paintball Jersey. This jersey costs about $36 and it comes in five different sizes.
It is made from 50% cotton and 50% nylon material. It is equipped with elbow pads which offer protection, especially when crawling on the battlefield. The jersey also has zipper pockets on both sleeves.
The jersey is equipped with Velcro panels for easy identification and for attaching patches. The wrist closure is also made from a Velcro material to help ensure a tight and firm fit. The shoulders, elbows, and forearms are reinforced with ripstop material which makes it extremely durable.
For women it seems to be more difficult to find camo jersey's specifically for paintball. I've included a table with options for women, but I would suggest that you consider wearing a men's jersey. It will be looser fitting, but should provide a bit more protection from the sting of a paintball than a skin tight t-shirt...
Mossy Oaks does offer camouflage jersey's for women. It's from their hunter collection, but would certainly do for a paintball battle, especially when temperatures are getting colder.
For a more casual look, while still staying undetected, the Global Blank Camouflage Hooded Fleece Sweatshirt is a great option.
This hoodie unisex, is perfect for beginners to woodsball gaming who do not want to invest so much money on expensive gear. The hoodie is great value, it's made from cotton and polyester material which makes it comfortable to wear.
It is a lightweight hoodie weighing 10.4 ounces and it has no special features other than the fact that it is camouflage which can help players stay undetected while maneuvering.
Another option is the Staghorn Camo Hoodie comes in under $50 with a variety of colors. It is made with 60% cotton material and 40% polyester material which ensure a comfortable fit.
The hoodie's pattern is designed to allow players to easily camouflage and blend in with the woods and bushes outdoor. It can be used either for paintballing, hunting, or casual wear.
Ghillie suits are camouflage suits mostly worn by snipers to help stay undetected while aiming at opponents. Players usually have the option of either buying or building their ghillie suit.
To learn more about what options of ghillie suits to buy, you can read our article which fully discusses what a ghillie suit is and also highlights the overall best, best budget, and cheapest option for a ghillie suit.
To build a ghillie suit, players can make use of a ghillie suit foundation. An example is the ROCOTACTICAL Sniper Ghillie Suit Foundation (check Amazon for pricing).
The ghillie suit is made from ripstop material which ensures its durability. It has straps for burlap and attaching vegetation and it can be easily adjusted to fit all sizes. It is extremely lightweight weighing just 15.9 ounces.
If you don't want to build your own suit, then you could choose one that's already made. here are a couple of choices.
The helmet's sole purpose is to protect the user against damage to the head as a result of the strong impact that could be caused while maneuvering one's way on the field of play. Why use a helmet as opposed to a mask? You might wonder.
As a sniper playing in woodsball games, sight is everything! The conventional paintball masks could often pose a bit uncomfortable especially while trying to aim. Therefore, some snipers would rather go for a helmet which allows them to easily put their eyes against the scope of their guns.
So, using a helmet has its obvious advantages, and using a camouflage helmet further improves said advantage. An example of a camouflage helmet is the H World Outdoor Tactical Military Gear Combat Helmet.
It has a head circumference of about 56-59cm and it is made from canvas material.
Balaclava ski masks are headgears that are designed to just expose a certain section of the face usually the eyes. Getting the camouflage version of this mask can help prevent opponents from detecting you while also keeping you warm.
Balaclava masks can be worn under helmets or hoodies. A great example of a camouflage balaclava mask is the Ergodyne N-Ferno 6823 Balaclava Ski Mask.
The mask is made from 100% polyester and is wind resistant and extremely breathable. It can be worn in three different ways, either as a balaclava mask which exposes just the eyes or as a neck gaiter or as a ski mask.
While trying to aim, players-especially snipers- usually stick the barrels of their rifles out of cover. This might give away the position of the shooter, so it is always advisable to wrap your paintball rifle in camouflage wraps to avoid getting detected.
A good option is the Uning Self-Adhesive Protective Camouflage Tape Wrap. You can wrap your paintball barrel with this tape so that if the sun "glints" off the barrel shaft, your position won't be given away!
This tape is made from a self-adhesive elastic material that sticks to itself when wrapped. It is reusable and it leaves no sticky marks when removed. The tape is elastic and can conform to any shape.
Other than the tape listed above, you could also consider some of these options listed below to camouflage your paintball gun and barrel.
Camouflage means wearing gear or painting that helps the user blend in with the environment. Camouflage does not always refer to wearing military colors but in the context of woodsball paintballing, military camouflage is the most ideal option.
Since woodsball paintballing is done outdoors, military camouflage helps players blend in with the natural environment (trees and bushes). The main advantage of camouflage in paintballing is that it allows players to move around while staying undetected.
Although, players become easy to spot if they maneuver poorly or start shooting without taking appropriate cover. Military camouflage also gives players a real-life feel as they are geared up in quality protective gear which generally improves the paintballing experience.
Military camouflage is also made from quality durable material which usually offers maximum protection to users.
Depending on the role you play in woodsball, your camouflage attire may differ. (Scroll down to the FAQ section for a description of each player role). For rushers and suppressors who move around less discretely, full kit camouflage may not be needed.
Rushers and suppressors can make use of camouflage jerseys and pants to give them maximum protection. Players in these roles should make use of paintball masks, but don’t really need a camo helmet.
However, for marksmen and snipers who move more discretely and whose role is to eliminate opponents without getting detected, a full kit camouflage gear would be essential.
For marksmen, the appropriate gear would be a camouflage jersey, pants, helmet, and tape for their rifle. For snipers, on the other hand, a full ghillie suit is preferable, with camouflage tape to conceal the rifle.
Players are free to choose whatever camouflage gear they want but it is important to consider the role they will be playing and see which is more important, mobility or concealment.
There are three major forms of paintballing which are woodsball, scenario, and speedball paintballing. Woodsball paintballing has already been explained earlier in this article.
Scenario paintballing, on the other hand, has to do with re-enactments of historic events, current pop culture, or science fiction/video game simulations. Scenario paintballing involves a lot of people and a lot of hours of gameplay.
Ordinary scenario games usually have an average of six hours of continuous gameplay while the more challenging versions could run for 24 hours with no breaks.
Speedball paintballing is one of the most common forms of paintballing. It is usually the first option for beginners to try out. It is usually carried out on plain grass or turf with obstructions including bunkers, tires, and barrels put in place to separate the field into two sections.
There are usually two opposing teams facing each other and the game has about 7-10 players on each team depending on the size of the field. Speedball games are usually fast-paced when compared to other forms of paintballing and it requires fewer player roles (everyone moves together to achieve the common goal)
Unlike woodsball and scenario paintballing, speedball does not require large trees or bushes. All you need is a large expanse of land to convert into your playing turf. Speedball games are short and can be completed within an hour. So, if you aren't too big on long games that stretch for long hours, speedball is a great option.
The rusher is usually the quickest member of the team who can maneuver his/her way around the battlefield without getting hit. The rusher uses a rifle with an intense firing rate and they usually lead the team into a charge against the opposing team.
In games of capture the flag, the rusher also goes in to secure the flag. The rusher has to be both quick and skillful.
The marksman usually comes behind the rusher and their job is to take out as many opponents as possible while supporting the rusher. Their role is often seen as a blend of the rusher and sniper roles.
As the name suggests, the main role of this player is to suppress enemy fire, and to do this, the player needs a rifle with a high firing rate that is also loud enough to keep enemies stuck to their cover.
The sniper is the quietest member of the team who moves around the field staying undetected to take out opponents. The sniper is a very vital role in woodsball paintballing as they have the power to change the flow of the game. Camouflage for snipers is vital as this allows them to hide in plain sight without getting spotted. Read more about the Best Paintball Sniper Setup
Paintball barrels vary in length, usually from about 8 inches to 21 inches. The ideal length for a paintball barrel to shoot effectively is 8 inches. A minimum of 8 inches is necessary to help the paintball generate adequate force to shoot out the gun without causing any damage to it.
Rumour has it that the longer a barrel, the more accurate and farther the paintball will travel. This belief is not entirely wrong though; while a longer barrel does not increase the range of the paintball, it can, however, add more spin to the ball while being shot out of the barrel (a paintball shot with a spin tends to travel in a more accurate path than one without).
A longer barrel could also mean that the velocity of the shot could start reducing since it takes longer to be shot out of the barrel. Therefore, a longer barrel could even mean a shorter range. Some players also find it easier to aim with a longer barrel length which in turn improves their accuracy.
Hence, the length of a paintball barrel might just add a little improvement to the accuracy of a paintball when shot but it is not a major determinant of the accuracy of a paintball.
The major factors that add to the accuracy of a paintball gun include:
The barrel bore size simply has to do with the inner diameter of the barrel. The barrel bore size should match the size of the paintball to greatly improve accuracy.
To check if your barrel bore size and paintball match, you can simply put the paintball into your barrel. If the paintball rolls out, then your barrel is too big. If the paintball gets stuck, then the barrel size is too small. The ideal fit would require you to slightly blow the paintball out of the barrel with your breath.
Getting the perfect barrel bore size can greatly affect the accuracy of your shots. The most common barrel sizes are the .684 and .685. These two are great picks players who seek to improve their game.
If you play paintball regularly, then you will know that debris from paintballs tends to stick in the barrel of your paintball. Continuously using your paintball gun over a long period without cleaning the barrel could affect your accuracy.
The debris left behind by the paintball will cause friction which can therefore reduce the force of your shot. With lower velocity/force, your shot might not stay true to its path thereby causing your shots to stray off target.
Even if you have not been using your paintball gun for a long time, it is advisable to clean your barrel after each game as paintballs could break while being shot.
Cheaper paintballs tend to break easily when shot. This is because some of these paintballs are filled with air bubbles which prevent the paintball from flying true to its path. To get the optimum result, it is advisable to invest in quality paintballs.
The design of short and long barrels is similar. They are broken down into three main parts which include:
The threading is the part of the barrel with a spiral screw that allows it to connect with the paintball gun. When it comes to threading, the issue of compatibility of your barrel with the paintball gun comes up.
To get more insight on the various types of barrels and the paintball guns they are compatible with, you can read our article on the topic Are paintball barrels universal
The shaft is the tunnel path through which the paintball is shot. The shaft is the solid portion that makes the most of the barrel.
The porting is holes that are found close to the exit opening of the barrel. The porting helps reduce the noise produced from the gun being shot. The porting lets air escape the barrel instead of one huge burst at the end.
Snipers usually prefer barrels with porting since this allows them to take silent shots while staying hidden. Too much porting could be bad too as this allows a lot of air to escape the gun when shot thereby reducing the velocity of the paintball.
However, the 14-inch barrel is length is considered to be the perfect balance of the short and long barrel type. The 14-inch barrel has a mixture of both advantages of a short and long barrel length.
What determines which barrel paintballers chose is their style of play. For players who enjoy close contact game plays, a short-barrelled paintball gun would be an ideal option while players-especially snipers-who loves playing a more conservative game and who enjoy taking long-range shots would prefer a long-barrelled paintball gun.
Long-barrelled paintball guns are a lot quieter than short-barrelled paintball guns. However, they consume more gas while being shot. We will discuss the pros and cons of shot and long barrel paintball guns below.

Before I get into all the gory details, here are my top 3 choices for paintball masks if you wear glasses (scroll down further to get all the details!):
If you wear glasses and are passionate about the game of paintball, don’t lose hope. There are ways you can effectively participate in the game and still see clearly. Wearing glasses, then a paintball mask might seem like a herculean task but with the proper gear, it is as easy as pie!
You can either get contact lenses or invest in anti-fog equipment such as anti-fog sprays and cream or a paintball mask with a fan. There are two things to consider when selecting a paintball mask to wear over glasses.
The first and most essential thing is the comfortability of the mask. This has to do with the gap between the lens of the mask and the frames of your glasses. There should be enough room between the two lenses, so they don’t press against each other
The comfortability also has to do with how firm the foam paddings of the mask press against your face. It is always advisable when choosing a paintball mask to wear over glasses, to choose a slightly bigger mask with an adjustable strap for increased convenience.
It is also advisable to use a glasses strap to help make sure your glasses do not slip off while playing the game. Another vital factor to consider is the weight of the helmet. Players should always try to go for a lighter helmet when using glasses.
The second thing to consider is if the mask has an anti-fog thermal lens. Fogginess is one of the biggest challenges paintball players face while playing airsoft. It is even worse for players who wear glasses because not only can the lens of the mask get foggy, the lens of their glasses can also get foggy.
Ergo, it is important to wear the proper gear and apparel which can help reduce the level of fogginess. When trying to reduce fogginess, it is important to choose a paintball mask with proper ventilation and breathability.
Wearing headbands can also help reduce fogginess because these headbands soak up sweat that could drip down into players' eyes and increase the level of humidity which in turn leads to fogginess. Making use of anti-fog sprays or creams can also help reduce the level of fogginess for players.
Regardless of which option you pick-either getting contact lenses or purchasing various paintball mask anti-fog equipment- getting the ideal mask is just as important.
In this article, we will be highlighting the various paintball masks we believe are most suitable for paintballer ballers who wear glasses.
Below is a comparison chart highlighting the differences between the masks listed above based on the following factors: price, weight, peripheral vision, and lens type.

Most of the paintball masks that cost less than $50 often come with a single pane lens as opposed to the dual-pane lens that comes with higher-end goggles. You can check the FAQ section to understand better the difference between these two different types of lenses.
The Valken MI 7 goggle offers a very affordable option especially for beginners to the game of paintball. The paintball mask is equipped with adequate features, some of which are also present in more expensive masks.
Highlighted below are the main features and specifications of the Valken MI 7 mask:
Generally, lenses are made of polycarbonate material which makes them sturdy and resistant to shock, scratch, and glare.
Single pane lenses like the name suggest means that the goggles have just one set of polycarbonate lens which has an anti-fog coating. Single pane lenses are more affordable and easier to maintain but are however subject to fogging easily.
Dual-pane thermal lenses, on the other hand, require the goggles to have two sets of polycarbonate lenses reinforced together with glue and foam which help regulate temperature and prevent fogging.
Dipping your dual-pane lenses in water may damage them and render them useless because the foam between the lenses is absorbent.
Are you a parent or guardian and do your kids have an interest in playing airsoft? Then at some point or the other, you must have thought about what the ideal age would be for them to get on the field and start playing.
Due to the uncanny resemblance between airsoft guns and actual firearms, there have been various laws and regulations that have been put in place to ensure safety and to distinguish these two from each other.
Popular amongst these laws is the age restriction laws placed by countries to regulate those who can purchase and use airsoft guns, then the law that enforces the use of orange plastic tips for airsoft guns to easily distinguish it from an actual firearm.
The ideal age to start playing airsoft is 15 to 16 years of age. Kids ages 10 to 12 may be permitted to play in some states provided they have proper supervision because it is believed that they may not have the maturity to play the game yet. Each state and province in the US and Canada have different rules which are summarized in this article.
The United States and Canada both adopt the same laws as regards airsoft guns having an orange 6mm tip on the muzzle of the gun. They also adopt the same laws when it comes to the required age for the purchase of airsoft guns.
No federal law explicitly states that airsoft guns need to be equipped with orange tips after purchase. However, the orange tips must be present upon importation and as when sold by the retailer. Although, there are some states and provinces that have laws that require airsoft guns to always have the orange tips attached to make it easy to distinguish.
Various countries have different laws about airsoft guns and some countries have banned the use of these guns. Examples of countries that have prohibited the use of airsoft guns include Singapore, North Korea, Australia, and Honduras.
It is quite understandable why these countries banned the use of airsoft guns because there have been various misinterpreted cases of the police shooting youths in possession of airsoft guns thinking they were carrying a real firearm. In the year 2015, the Center for Disease Control in the United States recorded an increase in medical incidents that were caused by airsoft guns.
Airsoft is a beautiful game, but without these rules, various issues may arise which could cause harm to the player.
We will be looking at the laws and regulations surrounding the age at which people can play and purchase airsoft in the United States and Canada.

There are two aspects to the criminal code laws in Arizona when it comes to the use of firearms. One talks about possession/use of firearms and this aspect defines states that firearms are discharged using an explosive.

The second aspect talks about firearms being used in criminal offenses. This aspect states that firearms are discharged using expanding gases and not explosives. Here, airsoft guns would qualify as firearms and would mean that its use is prohibited.
Overall, the argument for the use of airsoft guns in Arizona could be a dicey one, so it is advisable to avoid it.
However, in Phoenix, the law permits the use of airsoft guns on shooting ranges operated by qualified personnel. It also permits the use of airsoft guns on private properties provided that the area is enclosed to prevent the projectiles from getting out.
