As any seasoned paintballer will tell you, one of the most important factors in having a great game is the location. And when it comes to finding the perfect spot to play, there's no better place than Colorado Springs.
With its abundance of open space and stunning natural scenery, not to mention its world-class paintball facilities, it's no wonder that Colorado Springs has become a mecca for the sport.
So if you're looking for a great place to enjoy a day of paintballing with friends or family, here are six paintball fields in and around Colorado Springs that should be at the top of your list:
6425 E Platte Ave,
Colorado Springs, CO 80914
If you're looking for a place to play in Colorado Springs, Covert Ops Paintball is one of the best. They also have a speedball field—a great way to practice your aim and get better at quick movements. Speedball requires less gear than regular paintball, so it's easier on your wallet.
The facility has two places to play: one urban area and one woodland area. Both have obstacles and different games set up, so there's something for every player—whether they prefer speedball or walk-on style games. Plus, this place is constantly updating its fields and recreational areas to ensure that everything is perfect for players of all skill levels.
The staff is very friendly and well versed in the sport of paintball, so you can ask them any questions you might have about gear or safety or anything else that comes up during your game. You can even rent the equipment from them if you don't want to bring your own or buy it at a discounted price.
The biggest con about this place is that it's expensive—but if you're looking for a quality paintballing experience and don't mind paying for it, Covert Ops is worth every penny.
834 Emory Cir,
Colorado Springs, CO 80915
American Paintball Coliseum has a family-friendly environment that makes it easy for young kids to learn and play the game without getting hurt. The course is fun and smaller, making games faster and more action-packed.
The field is constantly changing, with different angles and covers around the field. This means no one will ever get bored! And since there are lots of different skill levels on any given day, it makes for even games that everyone can enjoy.
The staff is great and friendly, making us feel comfortable enough to let our kids hang out there while we play! And they offer a great deal on rentals, too. But if you're looking to go pro, this might not be the place for you: they don't have many selections of guns or attachments available yet—just the basics like goggles and tanks.
The only drawback is that there might not be enough space for competitive players who want to run through obstacle courses or do long-distance shots across open spaces as it's smaller than other fields around Colorado Springs.
1200 Dragonman Dr,
Colorado Springs, CO 80929
Dragonman's Paintball Field is one of the best paintball fields in Colorado Springs by far. They've got great courses, low prices, and a laid-back atmosphere.
The variety of courses was great, and all of them were fun to play on. The laid-back style was awesome—there was no pressure to win or perform well, just have fun! They rent paintball equipment for their multiple paintball ranges, so there's no need to bring your own gear unless you want to.
The field is constantly changing, and a good range of player skills makes fun and even games. It's great if you're starting because players are grouped according to skill level. They also have a few awesome paintball courses and dirt bike tracks for people who want something different than what they get at other fields.
Their excellent customer service and friendly service inside the shop make this one of the best places to get your gear from. They also have great deals for rentals, so you don't have to worry about buying new paintballs or guns if yours breaks down during playtime.
139 30 1/2 Ln,
Pueblo, CO 81006
Colors Splash Paintball Park is locally owned and operated by people who love paintball as much as you do—and they're eager to share their passion with you!
The fields are 15 acres each, with two courses open on the day: one speedball area and one kind of wood area. Their equipment is available for rent and sale, so you can get in on the fun with minimal hassle. They also have air to refill your tank when you run out—we didn't have to worry about that during our visit.
The terrain park has many different obstacles for you to practice shooting at, but it also has air pumps to refill your tank when you run out of air. And if you need some help, they have staff members there who will show you what to do if something goes wrong with your gun or mask.
It may not be perfect—there are some natural obstacles on the field that need maintenance—but for a fun afternoon with friends or family, Colors Splash is worth checking out!
7375 Reynolds Dr,
Sedalia, CO 80135
If you're looking for something more laid-back and low-key, Paintball Adventures has several smaller fields perfect for beginners. If you're looking for something a little more action-packed, they've also got some larger fields set up.
They have well-designed fields that are a blast, and they're kept clean and dynamic so players can have fun every time they come out. The refs are very strict on safety during the game, making it easy to get into the game without worrying about getting injured.
They offer private games seven days a week and walk-on play Saturday and Sunday mornings, which is great if you're looking for something fun to do with friends or family members.
The prices are extremely reasonable, but if you're interested in renting equipment or booking a private game, you should call ahead as they're often booked up over the summer months.
The only con is that rental equipment could probably use an upgrade since paintballs don't even break when you shoot someone and just bounce off.
29701 E Jewell Ave,
Aurora, CO 80018

Their safety brief is clear and easy to understand, and our large recreational field is perfect for players of all skill levels. They also offer a 10-20 minute match wait time, so you can get right into the action.
