When looking for a paintball field in Tampa, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available. We understand that you want a field that is well-maintained and safe for your group, but also one with plenty of action.
If you're looking for something more off-beat than your average paintball park, we've compiled a list of all the best paintball fields in Tampa, including some that are close enough to get to in under an hour.
3378 S 50th St,
Tampa, FL 33619
Urban Core Paintball has a wide variety of courts to choose from and an open field, so you can get a taste of everything. There's a speedball, a fort, and even a massive woodsball field where you can go all tactical on your opponents.
The staff is knowledgeable and courteous—they're respectful of your time and safety (which is important when you're playing at high speeds!). The equipment was being well taken care of and looked brand new. There were safety briefings provided before each game.
The only downside is that there's no cover at all on this field—you'll have to deal with mud if it rains or if it's been raining recently. There are also no real paths back to the wooded areas—it's just a muddy path through the brush. We recommend wearing boots if you plan on playing here!
210 Pruett Rd,
Seffner, FL 33584
Tiki's Paintball Park is a family-oriented park suitable for ages eight years and up. It offers a huge playground, a very spacious and clean park, which makes it easy to play paintball and have a good time. The staff were very professional, very nice, and continued to enforce safety throughout the entire day.
There are lots of seating areas around the park so that people can sit in the shade while they eat or drink. They also offer on-site grilling for a party at an extra cost, or you bring your own food and drinks.
The only con I would have about this place is that it gets busy on the weekends, so plan ahead if you're going during peak hours. A few of their fields need more maintenance than others, but it's still a great place to go paintballing!
11122 Houston Ave,
Hudson, FL 34667
Gator Paintball Extreme is a long-standing paintball establishment just north of Tampa, putting them at the top of their game.
You can choose from regular obstacle course style fields or realistic Vietnam-themed fields—there's something for everyone! And if you're looking for something even more challenging, they offer matches with long 15-minute games (with rental gear included) at discounted rates.
The staff is very organized and friendly, which makes things run smoothly. They keep the rental and seasoned groups separated so they don't mix (which can be frustrating when playing with many beginners). This place is perfect for having a bachelor party, birthday party, or business party.
The only downside to Gator Paintball Extreme is that the paint price can be a little high compared to other paintball fields in Tampa, but the quality of the paint is unmatched.
2987 McMullen Booth Rd,
Clearwater, FL 33761
Clearwater Paintball is a great beginner field for kids or adults getting into airsoft and paintball. The fields are well-maintained and have multiple safety measures in place to ensure the safety of players at all times.
There are three different fields, each with its own unique features and challenges. The largest field is great for those who want to get into the game, while the smaller ones are perfect for those who want a more intimate experience.
The safety measures ensure that you'll be playing in a safe environment on and off the field. There's also a full shop on site where you can upgrade your gear or purchase new items before heading out onto the field.
Reservations aren't needed at Clearwater Paintball—you can just show up and play! But if you have a large group going with you, it's better to call ahead so they can prepare appropriately.
3255 Robertson Trail,
Lutz, FL 33559
At Jungle Games Paintball, they offer six fields and a firing line to practice on before your game begins. The courses range from large-scale battles to small skirmishes, so there's something for everyone. Each field is equipped with plenty of coverage, and capturing the flag is the primary theme.
Another great thing about this field is the monitor who accompanies your party during each game. They make sure that everyone is safe and having fun while playing. They also had plenty of guns available for rent—all of which were in good condition.
And if you need a break between rounds, they have tables available so that you can refuel before jumping back into the action. You can bring coolers or food with you as there are no vendors on site, but make sure to bring cash as cards aren't accepted at this location.
Thonotosassa, FL 33592
Orbital Paintball's field layout is great for newcomers and intermediate players alike. Their staff is attentive and helpful; they have a variety of different playing styles to choose from.
If you're having an event with over ten people, they offer a discount rate per person and an assigned referee just for your group. Their staff is extremely helpful and attentive, while their referees are well-trained and structured. The food they had there was great as well and very reasonably priced.
However, there were some negatives: the paint wasn't very good quality, there weren't any self-fill stations for air tanks (which was annoying), and the bunkers were either deflated or falling over.
9365 US Hwy 98 N,
Lakeland, FL 33809
Central Florida Paintball is a great place to play paintball in Tampa, with an awesome and friendly atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and will help you find the right equipment for your skill level.
The price for admission is very reasonable, and the prices for paint and rental equipment.
They all have unique themes that make them stand out from one another, which makes playing so much more exciting. The woodball fields especially have some unique elements that make them more interesting than other fields in this area.
Some of their paint seemed warped and did not shoot well, but they have plenty of other options available. The netting and bunker on their hyperball field also needed some fixing, so players don't get stuck inside (and possibly hurt themselves).
Bradenton, FL 34211
Hi-Tec is a family-owned park that stresses safety and making sure everyone is there to have fun. If you want to make sure your kids are having fun, this is a great place to go.
The park offers various fields, some open, some confined, some converted into trees, and some with man-made obstacles. You can also bring your own paintballs or purchase them there. The staff has great communication with their customers and is very helpful with any questions you may have before or during your game.
They have great maps and good staff communication, who will help you pick out the best field for your group's needs. Most of their games are woodsball-style games, but they do have other options too, like speedball if you prefer it.
The price is good but could get pricey when buying ammo for a group of people—but then again, it depends on how much ammo you use!
800 Laurel Rd E,
Nokomis, FL 34275
Venice Paintball has grown into one of Tampa's most popular paintball fields. They have a man-made field with natural bunkers for the perfect blend of action and strategy.
Venice Paintball offers Open Field play on the second Sunday and last Saturday of every month, giving players a chance to get out there and have some fun without waiting for a certain day or time slot.
But if you're looking for something more structured, there are always birthday parties, corporate events, or private groups available. They recommend that players wear long-sleeve shirts and pants and closed shoes so they can avoid getting hurt by flying paintballs.
There are some cons to this place: some said the place was just downright unsanitary and dangerous—and located at the back of a pet cemetery!
