Before getting into the details about this marker, it is essential to understand what a pump-action paintball is. Just as the name connotes, Pump-action requires the player to pump the gun by pulling a pump handle back to load the paintball into the barrel before shooting.

Pump action paintball guns are not for everyone, especially people who love a fast-paced game. They require a more subtle and intricate touch and using a pump-action paintball gun in a speedball game might put you at a significant disadvantage, given that you must pump the marker every time you need to shoot, which dramatically slows down your firing rate. Pump-action guns are enjoyable when everyone uses pump action.

So, who is this gun best suited for? I believe pump-action guns are great for intermediate to advanced players who enjoy a more tactical slow-paced match. This could be a good gun for a beginner as long everyone on the field are using pump-action guns.  A beginner is less likely to  feel overwhelmed and feel the pressure to keep up they would usually face while playing speedball paintball.

However, if you are into speedball or woodsball paintballing and are looking for a suitable marker  (Click here to read my Tippmann Cronus Marker Review) to read our review of the Tippman Cronus paintball as my pick for the best beginner paintball gun. Here is an article that discusses our top picks for Best Fully Auto Paintball Guns.

Players who enjoy tactical games where strategy is more important than firepower would also enjoy pump action paintball guns. When using this type of gun, players hardly use a lot of ammo and are very cautious when taking shots because every shot counts.

Azodin KP3.5 KAOS Pump Paintball Marker (Orange/Gold)

The Azodin KP3.5 KAOS pump action gun is a well-balanced and efficient gun with a simple well-functioning system. The KP3 replaced the KP2 pump gun, which had a twist feed-neck and no on/off gas regulator. The marker also runs majorly on compressed air and is not compatible with CO2, which saves players the stress of purchasing an expensive gas like CO2.

Features & Specifications.

Listed below are some of the features and specifications of the Azodin KP3.5 KAOS:

  • The marker solely uses compressed air, which can be shut on/off by the ASA regulator switch located at the handle's bottom.
  • The marker is equipped with a zero-system spring assembly.
  • The pump handle is made with a Delrin plastic material but often covered with a carbon fiber wrap.
  • The marker is equipped with an Aluminum clamping feed neck, which is different from its predecessor-the KP2-which had a twist feed neck.
  • It is equipped with an Aluminum single trigger frame.
  • It has dual cocking rods for smoother pump stroke, which increases the overall user experience.
  • The marker weighs a bit over 2.5 pounds.
  • Its compact design makes it easy and comfortable to use.
  • The marker has no auto-cocker pump set up.
  • The package comes with two 14-inch barrels (.685 & .681)
  • The marker has a pull-pin release bolt, making it easy to push the bolt through the front without the barrel.
  • It has an Aluminum body and frame, which utilizes only one single trigger frame and dual ball detents.
  • It has an adjustable in-line regulator, and the gun operates at about 230 psi.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • This line of markers comes with an excellent selection of color options.
  • The trigger pull is exceptionally light.
  • The pump handle is quite comfortable, which improves overall gameplay.
  • The general weight is impressive, weighing only about 2.5 pounds.
  • There is no need for large hoppers because the fire rate is much slower and does not need as much ammo as a speedball.
  • It comes with a swivel micro-fitting, and it is also equipped with a safety button.
  • The lower pressure prevents the gun from having such a strong kick and also makes it quiet.
Cons
  • It shoots super-hot out of the box.
  • The marker has no auto-trigger.
  • A slow rate of fire when compared to speedball guns.

Azodin KP3.5 KAOS Owner Reviews & Feedback

So, I wanted to provide you with other player's opinions. Therefore, I've asked other players who own and use the Azodin KP3.5 KAOS for their honest opinion. This is what owners/users had to say:

  • It is incredibly reliable and hard to break, and I would not recommend it as a starter gun. A pump puts you at a severe disadvantage. So, if you are starting to play, it is possible the sport could turn you off.
  • First off, playing style will be your first consideration. If you play a lot and need a very fast auto-cocking pump, yes, maybe hold out for a better marker. Otherwise, if you are not into speed shooting but more accuracy and casual play, you can get away with even the lower end Azodin KP. Don’t get me wrong, if I could afford to put out for a CCM series 6.5 or newer, I would, but I don’t have play enough to justify it. If you have got the money regardless of playstyle and how often you play, buy what your heart desires. The KP3 is a good shooting marker and low-cost self-maintenance if needed.
  • The KP3 is a good marker. I had a white and gold one a while ago, it had a faulty valve O-ring from the factory, but it shot great after I switched it out.
  • Better than throwing paintballs across the field! Seriously though, I am not sure about the 3.5, but I had a KP3 that I took in a trade, and while it was decent enough, I would never have bought one. It felt cheap and had many issues that I needed to take care of before I was able to sell it. I would probably avoid them and hold out for a CCM if you can afford it. If no CCM, then build a sniper-based pump.
  • KP3s are solid and reliable. I have a CCM and a sniper, and I would say the KP3 is built as well or even better for a fraction of the cost.
  • MY KP3 has been the most drop-dead reliable gun that I have ever owned. I’ve never had a single problem with it except that it is a little fidgety when it airs up. Besides that, it is rock solid reliable for me. It is an extremely durable marker.
  • Solid markers! Surprisingly, smooth pump stroke. If you have a decent reg laying around (CP, for instance), it will be good to go. The KP series is the pump for the player who wants a pump, but it is a minimum load out typically.
  • I love my KP3. I recommend just buying a regular KP3 and, over time, buy the parts separately.
  • I was genuinely impressed with the KP3 that I shot a while back. Is it as nice as my T2? No. However, for literally 1/6th to 1/8th of the price, it was totally above what it costs in terms of value. My friend had a scrappy one he got off TMG, the thing was full of junk, and after I cleaned it, it shot incredibly smooth and consistent. Like others have said, pick up some reg seats. Many people have said that those reg seats found in the KP3s are junk.
  • KP3s are cool, but for the price, try and find yourself a WGP. You will not regret it.

Conclusion

Why should you buy this gun over the others available? The quality this marker is providing and the rate at which it is being sold makes it affordable.

The KP3 is undoubtedly well packaged and quite ergonomic. It gives off the feel of a high-end paintball marker, and it is very durable.

If you are getting into pump-action gameplay and are looking for a reasonably priced beginner's pump-action marker, or if you like a more slow-paced tactical game, the KP3 is definitely what you want.

It is a bang!
